Magic Vegan Choc Mousse

Our mushrooms aren’t the only magic going on ‘round here. This super simple mousse answers our thoughts, prayers and chocolate cravings in one smooth hit. Full of make-your-skin-glow good fats and antioxidant-rich cacao powder, this dessert toes the line between healthy and downright indulgent, then does a line dance. Yeehaw!


Serves: 1-4 (if you catch our drift)


  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 3 tbsp raw cacao powder

  • 3 tbsp coconut cream (or nut milk)

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • ¼ cup Fun Girl chocolate, chopped

  • 1 tbsp tahini (optional)

  • A good pinch of sea salt

  • Nuts, berries, petals and extra Fun Girl, to decorate


  1. Scoop the flesh out of the avocado and add it to a food processor or blender.

  2. Add chopped Fun Girl chocolate to a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until completely melted. Set aside and snack on any leftovers (all this cooking’s hard work!).

  3. Add cacao powder, coconut cream, coconut oil, maple syrup, melted chocolate, sea salt and tahini, if using, to the food processor. Blend until smooth and silky. Taste and add a little more sweetener or salt, to suit your tastes.

  4. Spoon into bowls and top with nuts, berries, florals and extra chopped Fun Girl. 

Mousse can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days (if it lasts that long).
